My name is Akita Fowler, and I am an experienced counsellor and psychotherapist having opened my practice in 2004 and having worked with a diverse range of people in private and voluntary organisations. I help people talk about their problems, and explore their thoughts, feelings and behaviours in a warm, supportive and non-judgemental environment. I work privately and confidentially, helping couples and individuals to deal with a range of issues.

What are my qualifications and credentials?

  • Post Graduate Advanced Diploma in Transactional Analysis Psychotherapy;
  • License to practice Life Planning from Dr E. Mapstone;
  • Certificate in Counselling from University of Wales;
  • UKRCP Registered

What do 'MBACP' and 'UKRCP Registered' mean?

'MBACP' means that I am a qualified Member of the BACP (British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy), a nationally recognised professional body.

'UKRCP Registered' means that I have completed their exam to be added to their accredited register. As you can see from the BACP Registered Member logo on the right, I have a unique number on the accredited register - 050788 - so that you can check my credentials online here: www.bacpregister.org.uk.

I strictly adhere to the rules and ethics as laid down by the BACP.
